- - hogsmeade station
a "tiny, dark platform" where the hogwarts express ends its journey north from platform nine-and-three-quaters. the station is located near the lake, and from there a road extends around the lake to hogwarts castle. the station is actually quite a distance from the town itself, being on the opposite side of the hogwarts grounds.

- - the three broomsticks
the three broomsticks has a great atmosphere because it is where most of the students come to get drinks during their weekend breaks. the barmaid is lovely but she's strict on alcohol. if you want to drink under age this is not the place to come. there are plenty of places to sit and the fire is always roaring.

- - dervish and bangs
shop that sells and repairs "magical instruments and stuff," including Sneakoscopes. it is located near the end of high street. the prices are not completely off the scale, in fact they're affordable in general. the shopkeeper is a friendly enough to make sure you feel welcome whenever you come inside.

- - gladwrags wizardwear
clothier, with additional shops in london and paris. it has everything a witch or wizard could need to make life work and there's a great feeling inside the place. some of the robes are disgusting to look at, but there are beautiful dress robes available as well.

- - honeydukes
a sweetshop, owned by ambrosius flume and his wife, which is filled with "shelves upon shelves of the most succulent-looking sweets imaginable". in addition to the standard wizarding candy that is sold there, the owners also make their own fudge and chocolate. for obvious reasons, the shop is quite popular.

- - madam pudifoots
a small, cramped tea shop with decor on the tacky side of frilly (such as floating golden cherubs throwing pink confetti), located just off the high street. the only hogwarts students who seem to patronize the place are trysting couples. it is always a good place to come and hide out as well.

- - post office
the only wizarding post office we ever hear of, where at least three hundred owls, from great grays to tiny scops, wait to carry messages. they sit on shelves that are color-coded, depending on how fast you want your letter to get to its destination.

- - shrieking shack
falsely rumored to be "the most haunted building in britain," the shrieking shack is a favorite stop on any Hogsmeade visit. however, the wails that were once heard emanating from this creepy building were not in fact ghosts, but rather remus lupin transformed.

- - zonkos joke shop
zonko's is a favourite place for hogwarts students to shop. they carry "jokes and tricks to fulfill even fred's and george's wildest dreams," including dungbombs, hiccup sweets, frog spawn soap, and nose-biting teacups. there had been talk of the weasley's buying this building, but it never came through as zonko didn't want to sell his business to anyone.

- - the hogs head
a rather shady pub managed by aberforth cumbledore. this place doesn't care who it serves, but make sure to bring your own glass as the people in here don't ever seem to be able to clean them properly no matter what. once they even let dragon eggs be won over a game of cards in years past.
